The Belgian earwear brand is one of 200 companies recognized for shaping their industries in TIME’s inaugural shortlist for the TIME100 Most Influential Companies.
ANTWERP, BELGIUM – Today, TIME reveals the inaugural TIME100 Companies Industry Leaders, a new shortlist for the annual TIME100 Most Influential Companies list. Loop, the Belgian earwear brand, has been named number one in the Wellness sector, alongside industry leaders such as Lululemon, Technogym, and ClassPass.
To assemble the list, TIME solicited nominations across sectors and polled its global network of contributors and correspondents, as well as outside experts. TIME editors then evaluated each company on key factors, including impact, innovation, ambition, and success.
Loop was recognized for building an entirely new earwear category, breaking the stigma around hearing protection and making it as natural as wearing sunglasses. Founded in 2016 by two engineers with tinnitus, Loop has sold over 22 million products across 150+ countries. Cultural partnerships with Coachella, Tomorrowland, and McLaren Racing have made sound control part of everyday life.
“This is the highest recognition and such an incredible confirmation of what we’ve built with the team over the last nine years,” said Maarten Bodewes and Dimitri O, Loop’s co-founders, in a joint statement.
